This Australian Cypress has a distinctive character. The knots provide a level of personality that leaves the room warm and inviting.
In this project, there were quite a few issues related to how flat and level the floor was based on a subfloor that was over 100 years old. On this project, we decided to correct the most pronounced areas. Installing the wider plank really helped to shore up the flooring and give a more solid feeling under foot.
Certain situations require changing the direction of how the floor is installed. For the most part, this is dictated by the direction of the joists in your subfloor. It is sometimes nice to introduce a different wood species to demarcate the transition. Here we introduced American Black Walnut.
If you have existing hardwood, and you would like to expand that wood into other parts of your home, we can lace-in new wood to the existing wood. You will not be able to tell what was the old wood and what is the new–it will all look brand new and beautiful.
For this beautiful floor, we used rift and quarter-sawn red oak. There is a lot of character and beauty in each board, when the mill cuts the wood this way.
This customer had several rooms with maple and wanted to continue it throughout the entire main level. We installed, sanded and finished the maple flooring.
This project was a considerable remodel including the entire main level hardwood flooring. Note, this floor has alternating 3″ & 5″ widths.
We installed new wide-plank hickory in a historic home in Boulder. We had to level the subfloor before we put the new flooring in. See the before, during, and after pictures of this transformation. What a difference beautiful wood flooring makes!
